How to improve SEO on Google?

Stop writing around a single keyword

I covered concepts like the latent semantic keyword (LSI) and the way Google manages to interpret the content today.

Creating content around a single keyword is painful to do, very often painful to read and can even penalize your SEO on the web.

If you’re wondering how to improve SEO on google in 2018, then start getting used to developing your content (page or blog article) around an idea or theme, and not just a single keyword.

You noticed that on some search results, pages appear at the top while the searched keyword is neither in titles nor in content?

How is it possible?

Quite simply because we have entered the era of the semantic web.

Writing by targeting a general idea and no longer a keyword allows you to reference much faster, on many more keywords and with much less links.

You know what you have left to do!

Some tools to help you develop rich content that will position itself on Google for sure

  • SEOQUANTUM: application in French just released, a slaughter for obsessed content and semantic relations (like me)! This tool will become indispensable in 2018.
  • Keyword planner: the good old tool proposed by AdWords. Thought for paid search but very useful to understand how Google created and interprets groups of words.
  • LSI graph: a very good tool to start in with the LSI. Free, in English.
  • Answer the Public: I love this tool. Find all the questions that are asked on google around a given theme. Excellent and simple to use to improve your SEO by combining uncompromising queries.

With the advent of voice search on smartphones, word combinations become almost endless!

If you can target the most important words from a semantic point of view you can be referenced very quickly on hundreds of little-used keywords but belonging to the same family.

Semantic referencing is the future of SEO so better start now.

Write longer content… and more detail!

In order for Google to fully understand the idea around which you have written your article and for the engine to define which keywords you are positioning, you will need to produce more complete content.

Attention, I’m not talking about writing cobblestones without any sense in order to make quantity,

No…

  • This is to create as detailed content as possible on the subject of your choice.
  • Include references, videos on the subject treated, images etc…
  • Do not focus on one keyword anymore!
  • Focus on a theme to treat.
  • Use all the words in the semantic field in relation to the theme or idea you wish to address.

In 2018 it is the best way to improve your SEO on Google.

If you follow an editorial content plan, write less often but write longer, denser (folder-type) articles by attacking the subject from all angles.

Try to answer the questions asked on the search engine.

Where you write 3 or 4 articles of 400 words prefer to write 1 article of 2000-2500 well-structured words.

What are the benefits?

  • Your texts are longer, you use more keywords and so google improves your SEO on more search results.
  • If you search for your keywords correctly, you will appear on synonyms or words related to your article.
  • Create interesting and easy-to-read content that allows you to retain visitors, it’s good because the more people stay on your page and the better your natural SEO on google.
  • You position your site as a reference in a specific area.
  • Google will visit your site more often and in more depth (crawl indexing).
  • Your content is positioned much more easily using much less inbound links.

Reuse your content (again and again!)

You are certainly already referenced on several keywords.

Do not underestimate the existing content on your site!

You may not be well referenced, but you already are.

To discover the keywords on which you are already positioned on the search engine:

  • Use the Search Console from google.
  • Tab: Search Traffic >> Research Analysis
  • Go back to the filter by queries.
  • You see all the terms on which your article is positioned on Google for a specific page.
  • Take terms with an average position below 5 with a certain search volume and insert it in a legible and natural way in your article, your alt tags, your headers etc… Combined with each other all these elements will promote your SEO.

Optimize your site for the mobile version

In 2018 your site must have a version perfectly adapted to smartphones and tablets.

Searches on google from smartphones have surpassed searches done on computers.

This means that your site must have a mobile version

for your referencing it has become mandatory, you have no choice!

Why?

Because Google bases all your SEO on the portable version of your site and not on its computer version (desktop).

The announcement of the famous “mobile first index” is made for 1 year and a half but today but it seems that Google has started the migration of its index.

What does it change?

If your site is perfectly optimized for laptop but it is a disaster for posting on mobile versions your SEO will be affected on the search engine.

If this is not the case, absolutely create a mobile version of your site.

In the worst case use the AMP version offered by Google.

Although I’m not a big fan, it’s better than nothing.

Improve the frequency of Google visits to your site (Crawl Rate)

Start by taking a look at the average visit rate on your site, use the good old search console:

  • go to the exploration tab
  • click on statistics of the exploration

How to increase the frequency of google robot visits?

  • made regular audits
  • absolutely avoid duplicate content
  • avoid having orphaned or hard-to-reach pages
  • create quality content
  • create content regularly
  • reduce the loading time of your website
  • create and index your sitemap
  • create internal links (optimized internal mesh)
  • get external links

Links are always important!

Although today their only use is not so effective you must continue to get it regularly.

Nevertheless, for 2 years, I decided to get off in the acquisition of links and I decided to invest more time in promoting content.

There are many strategies to get links, more or less recommendable (PBN’s, exchanges, partnerships, links etc…)

To implement these things successfully, you can hire the best web agency from the list here.
